About the game

FlipAPenny is a free iOS simulation game where you start with a single penny and try to flip your way to a billion-dollar empire. Every NPC, item, trade, scam, lawsuit, and tax bill plays out across six game phases — from scavenging the streets to running a trust at Tycoon level. Available in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian on the App Store.

What's inside

Six phases of progression

From your first $0.01 to a billion-dollar net worth. Each phase unlocks new items, mechanics, and risks.

Build collections

Buy similar items to assemble collections that boost the value of every piece. Eight rare coins in a set are worth more than eight loose coins.

Boutiques and rentals

Income properties generate passive cash through service requests; rental buildings collect rent. Stack them or specialize.

Sophisticated scams

Scammers impersonate the IRS, your bank, real estate developers, even friends. NPC trust ratings help. Common sense helps more.

Don't ignore tax notices

Wait too long and the government seizes your bank account. Insurance lapses bite during disasters. Your mailbox is the heartbeat of the game.

VIP invitations

Once you cross multi-millions, exclusive invitations start arriving. Some are real opportunities. Some are not.

Phase 5 brings the trust game

Cross $50M and a slick advisor named Marcus DeVance shows up offering “bulletproof” asset protection through a revocable trust. The setup walks you through a real-world workflow — including a trip to irs.gov for an EIN. Marcus is partly right. He's also leaving things out. New in v2.0.

Frequently asked

Is FlipAPenny free?

Yes. Free to download, no ads, no required purchases. Optional cosmetic in-app items only.

What devices?

iPhone and iPad on iOS. No Android version yet.

How long to reach $1B?

Most players take 30 to 80 hours of active play across multiple sessions. There's no rush — many replay phases for the storyline.

Are the legal and financial scenarios real?

Inspired by real concepts (EIN applications, asset protection structures, IRS doctrines). The game is fiction. Don't take it as legal, financial, or tax advice.

Can I lose all my money?

Yes. Scams, lawsuits, tax seizures, disasters, and bad trades all hurt. Bank loans can help, but the interest adds up fast.

Is there multiplayer?

An async marketplace is coming — real player listings syncing every few minutes. No live PvP.
